Food Handlers class scheduled
Columbia County Sanitarian
Mark Edington will conduct a
food
handlers’ class on
Wednesday, March 28, at 3:30
p.m., at Fultano’s, 770 E. Co­
lumbia River Hwy., Clatskanie.
Participants will study a
booklet, watch a film and there
will be a question and answer
time. The class will be approxi­
mately 1-1/2 hours long.
Those who pass the food
handlers test will receive a food
handlers permit. Participants
must bring a pen or pencil to
complete the test. The fee for
taking the test is $10.
Booklets are available for
check-out at the Rainier, Ver­
nonia or Clatskanie Public Li­
braries. Booklets cannot be
mailed, but can be purchased
for $2 from Columbia County
Public Health, 2370 Gable
Road in St. Helens. Test ques­
tions are formulated from ma­
terial in the Food Handler’s
booklets.

The first meeting for the Ver­
nonia Friendship Jamboree of
2001 will be on Thursday,
March 8 at Lew’s Place, at 7:00
p.m. There will be election of
officers and discussion of the
future of the Jamboree. All
groups that are part of the Jam­
boree are asked to participate
at this meeting to insure your
inclusion in Jamboree promo­
tions.
All businesses that benefit
directly from the Jamboree are
asked to send a representative
who can be an active member
of the Jamboree Committee.
For everyone who is inter­
ested in participating in the
planning and execution of this
year’s festivities, this is the
time to share your ideas.
