CLARA R. SURBER
Clara R. Surber, 68, Forest Grove,
died December 4, 2000. Funeral ser
vices were held December 8 at the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints in Forest Grove. Interment was
in Enterprise Cemetery in Enterprise.
Mrs. Surber was bom February 2,
1932, in Farmington, Utah, to Austin
and Annie Lucina (Stewardt) Rice. She
was raised and attended school in
Farmington.
In 1947, she moved to Vernonia,
where she completed her education. In
1954 she moved to Portland and, later,
to Ontario, where she worked for Ore-
Ida Foods for 27 years.
She married Earl R. Surber in 1980.
They lived in Ontario until moving to
ol Kent of Forest Grove; numerous
nieces and nephews.

She was a past president of Veter
ans of Foreign Wars Post 5233 in For
est Grove and a past president of Dis
trict Six and the Ontario Auxiliary. She
was a member of the LDS Church in
Forest Grove.
Survivors include her husband; a
son, James V. Sharp and a daughter,
Mary Anne Sharp, both of Ontario; six
grandchildren; her mother, of Forest
Grove; six brothers, Lynn Rice of Cor
nelius, Lemuel Rice of Tillamook, Tom
Rice of Forest Grove, Glenn Rice and
Austin Rice, both of Kaysville, Utah,
and Irving Rice of Portland; four sis
ters, Margaret Kouva of Portland, May
Criswell of Oceanside, Calif., Myrtle
Montgomery of Hemet, Calif., and Car-

Ed L. McDaniel, 50, Henrieville,
Utah, died December 7, 2000. No ser
vices were held. Interment was private.
Mr. McDaniel was bom July 30,
1950, in Bloomfield, N.M., to Naomi
Lewis and Elmer McDaniel. They
moved to Colorado, then to Oregon,
where he graduated from Banks High
School.
After graduating, he spent several
years working in the hay business in
Dixon, Calif. In 1972, he married Velma
Domes in Dixon. They moved to Hen
rieville in the late 1970s.

JOYCE J. HEATH
Joyce Jean Heath, 64, died Dec. 1,
2000. A graveside service was held in
Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Heath was bom July 2, 1936,
in Portland. She moved to Seattle as a
young woman and then to Birkenfeld
before returning to Portland. She was a
private-duty certified nursing assistant
for several years, and later an apart

2000. Funeral services were held Dec.
19 in Peake Memorial Chapel. Inter
ment is in Willamette National Ceme

Mrs. Senn was bom Aug. 4, 1921,
in Buxton, where she was raised. Her
maiden name was Lazott.
In 1941 she married Joseph M.
Senn; he died in 1973. They moved in
1945 to Milwaukie. She was a home
maker.
Survivors include sons Gregory and
Kenneth, and seven grandchildren.
