ed in the lot behind the Joy
Theater and the Lyon’s Den,
will be wailin’ during Jamboree
2000.
Starting Friday at 4:00 p.m.,
Saturday and Sunday at noon,
about 30 different acts will en
tertain with rock, country, blues
and a whole lot more. The
eclectic nature of the Stage in
cludes musical saw players
opening Saturday’s perform
ance and a Jug Band Jam on
Sunday afternoon. Visiting and
local musicians will perform
along with favorites Curtis
“King” Chamberlain and the
Blind Rootin’ Hogs, Lynn Con
over, Alfred Easter and White-
water, and Baby Gramps. The
Stage closes Friday and Satur
day nights at about 10:00 p.m.
Sunday’s final act, Baby
Gramps, will start at 5:15 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged
to bring chairs, sun protection
or whatever else they need to
be comfortable. Audience par
ticipation is encouraged during
this casual, outdoor event.
A complete list of perform
ers may be found elsewhere in
this publication.
The Alternative Stage is
free, live entertainment, but do
nations are gratefully accepted
to help defray the costs of en
tertainers, many of whom trav
el a long way to perform. A tip
jar will be available, or spon
sorship contributions may be
made directly to the Alternative
Stage, c/o Curtis Chamberlain,
60120 Anderson Rd., St. He
lens, OR 97051. For further in
formation, e-mail <cking@co
