Quartet featured as Jamboree worship service moves to new location

ice will feature a performance
by the contemporary Christian
quartet, Rescue. The service
will be August 6 at 10:30 a.m.
on the lawn between Vernonia
High School and W ashington
Grade School.
Rescue is the fastest grow
ing contem porary C hristian
quartet in the Northwest. With
two CDs released in the last
year and appearances on
Northwest television shows, as
well as a strong presence in
churches all over the North
west, the group has catapulted
into a ministry that strives to
encourage and challenge.
Residents and visitors are
all invited to hear these four
young men proclaim the name
of the Lord in a fresh, new way.

Josh McKenney and Jason McKenney.
Let your mutt's "bad hair day" show
The Jam boree Mutt Show
will be held on Saturday, A u
gust 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson
Park. There is a suggested $2
donation, which will benefit lo
cal nonprofit organizations.
Categories in the show in
clude best bad hair day, most
like owner, best costume, best
trick, best behaved, biggest,
smallest and cutest puppy (for
dogs under one year).
Any breed or mixed breed is
eligible for the event. The han
dlers must be youth through
the age of 16. Assistance may
be provided to small children,
and dog owners who have chil
dren showing their dogs may
also help.
Ribbons w ill be aw arded
through third place in each cat
egory. All participants will re
ceive a ribbon for participating.
All dogs must be leashed, and
if they are ill-tempered, they
should be muzzled.
