Cruisin' 2000 gets m illennium o ff to a classic beginning
The eighth annual Ja m ­
boree Car Show, C ruisin’ 2000,
will be on Saturday, Aug. 5
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on
the Vernonia High School and
W ashington G rade School
grounds, on B ridge Street.
W ith 250-300 cars in the show,
presentation of awards will be­
gin at 4:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Nehalem
Valley Speed and Beauty Car
Club, the show features a long
list of categories in which ex­
hibitors can compete for prizes
and aw ards. The 16 c a te ­
gories, include Mini Truck,
Sports, Convertible, Pre-1941
cars, cars from 1987 to present
and more.
The very popular Bouncing
B aby Boom ers & the L e g ­
endary Boomettes will return to
entertain the crowd with ‘50s-
‘60s music from 1:00 to 4:00
p.m. A deejay will keep the m u­
sic going between events and
during registration.
Directions to Black Powder camp
The entry fee is $10.00 after
Aug. 1 and includes a packet
with a dash plaque and raffle
tickets. Prior to Aug. 1, the reg­
istration fee is $8.00 per vehi­
cle.
After many great years at
the Sword Ranch, the Nehalem
River Rendezvous has a new
location.
This year, the Vernonia Muz-
zleloaders will hold their annu­
al rendezvous on Stoney Point
Road, a short distance from
Hwy. 47 north of Vernonia.

Road, and watch for signs to
the Rendezvous.
