Obituary
CLAUDE D. CHAMBLISS
Claude Derris Chambliss, 59, Cor
nelius, died July 12, 2000, in New
Kensington, Penn., while on vacation.
Funeral services were held at Fuiten,
Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home in Forest
Grove, with Pastor Tolbert Dee Lovela
dy officiating.
Mr. Chambliss was born May 5,
1941, in Plainview Tex., to Edward and
Margaret Evelyn (Camley) Chambliss.
The family moved to Vernonia when he
was six months old.
He married Karen Lee Cotton in
1960 in Roseburg. They lived in Rose
burg and Banks, and later divorced.
In 1968, Mr. Chambliss married
Sue Becker in Hillsboro. They lived in
Hillsboro and Cornelius. They later di
vorced.
He married Charlene Ottenbacher
in 1974 in Cornelius. They lived in Cor
nelius and Forest Grove. They later di
vorced.
In 1992, he married Gladys Varney,
and they lived in Hillsboro. Mrs. Cham
bliss died in 1998.
Mr. Chambliss worked as a supervi
sor at Grant & Roth Plastics in Hills
boro for several years before working
at Chambliss Family Tools and Flea
Market. He worked for Key Knife Man
ufacturing Co. in Tualatin for 10 years,
until retiring in June, 2000.
He was a 31-year member of the
Loyal Order of Moose.
Mr. Chambliss was preceded in
death by two brothers, Darwin Lee and

Darwin Lee Chambliss II of Salem and

Stanley of Tigard; sister, Norma Sher-
ratt of Hillsboro; 15 grandchildren; nu
merous nieces and nephews.

GLEN A. WESTFALL
Glen Albert Westfall, 56, Forest
Grove, died July 20, 2000. Private ser
vices have been held.
Mr. Westfall was born Feb. 29,
1944, in Portland, to John Lloyd and
Irene (Childs) Westfall. The family lived
in Mezger, Dixie Mountain, Forest
Grove and Hillsboro. He graduated

then attended Portland State Universi
ty for three years.
He served in the U.S. Navy for ten
years, and was discharged in 1976.
Mr. Westfall married Judy Ann
Walker McMillan in 1976. They lived in
Banks until moving to Forest Grove in
1988.
He worked as a custodian for the
Banks School District and later for Tek
tronix until retiring in 1999.
He was preceded in death by a
brother, John; and sister, BeBe Warner.
Survivors include his wife; three
children, Sharee Loudermilk of Rupert,
W. Va; Karla McMillan and Cheryl
Johnson, both of Forest Grove; his
mother, Irene Ames, and a brother,
Willard, both of Amity; a sister, Ira An
drews of Billings, Mont., and several
grandchildren.
