Only the best market animals in
Youth Livestock Auction at Fair
The
annual
Columbia
County Fair Youth Livestock
Auction allows 4-H and FFA
members to sell animals to the
public before they leave the
fair. The auction will be held
Saturday, July 22 at 3:30 p.m.,
in the beef barn.
If you purchase an animal
at the auction, you will receive
prize winning livestock raised
by 4-H and FFA members as
part of their market projects.
Your purchase will help sup
port the cost of these educa
tional programs, but it will also
provide choice beef, pork,
lamb, rabbit and poultry for
your dining pleasure.
Animals sold at this auction
have been raised under strin
gent rules and have been
approved for the auction by
the Market Grader and the
auction committee. They must
have earned either a blue or
red ribbon in their confirmation
class, and many of them will
be either the champion or
reserve champion in their
class.
Auction buyers range from
individuals to businesses and
organizations. The purchase
may be for personal use, to
use as a fund raiser for anoth
er purpose, to donate to a food
bank or other charity, for a
company barbecue, or in
many other ways.
However the auction live
stock are utilized, the auction
helps keep these valuable pro
grams operating.
Fair events include logging
show, tractor pull and much more
