M rs. V olpp w as born Ju ne 26,
1908, on a farm near Bloom field, Neb.,
to C hristian F riederick and W ilhem ina
“ Rose” Lena (Cook) Utecht. She was
raised in the Bloom field area.
She m arried Paul W illiam Volpp in
1931, a t Elk P oint, S. Dak. T he y
farm ed in the Bloom field area until
1935, when they m oved to G reenville,
near Banks, then six m onths later, to
North Plains. In 1941, they m oved to
their present hom e in North Plains.
M rs. V olpp w as a hom em aker,
w orked the straw berry and hop fields,
and carried mail with her husband in
the Banks-Buxton area. She w as a
