Banks Lady Braves place third in state dance team competition
Banks High School dancers
placed third in the Class
1A/2A/3A large dance division
at the Oregon School Activities
Association-U.S. Bank State
Dance and Drill Team Champi­
onships held March 18 in Port­
land.
Three members of the team
also walked away with individ­
ual honors. Stephanie Vande-
hey won the Class 1A/2A/3A
drill-down; Laura Kizer and
Natesa Punzel made the Class
2A/3A all-state team.
Coaches Stacey Baker, Nic-
ki Kahlar and Heather Robin­
son expressed pleasure with
the team’s efforts.
In addition to Vandehey, Kiz­
er and Punzel, team members
includeKari Shurtleff, Nicole
Scharlepp, Kate Reed, Genny
Howell, Stephanie Hedin, Trini­
ty Hasenkamp, Krista Donoven,
Chantel Callaghan, Kathy Mills,
Nesha Abarno, Risa Johnson
and Carlee Frank.
Lady Braves Dance & Drill Team will hold clinic for ages four through high school
The Banks High School
Dance and Drill Team will hold
a dance clinic on April 24. This
clinic is open to people ages
four and up, and will begin after
school with participants having
a snack and learning a routine.
At 6:00 p.m., each group will
perform their routines for an
audience of family and friends,
followed by a performance by
the Banks Lady Braves.
The clinic cost is $18, and
for participants who turn in their
registration to the Banks High
school office, or any school of
fice in the district where buses
run, by 3:00 p.m. on April 14,

Hearing slated for sign ordinance
The Banks Planning Com­
mission, at its regular meeting
March 28,
approved an
amended version of the City
Sign Ordinance. A public hear­
ing on the ordinance will be on
the agenda of the April 25 Plan­
ning Commission meeting at
7:30 p.m., Banks City Hall.
Margaret Holland, new ap­
pointee to the commission in a
non-voting capacity, attended
her first meeting March 28. All
positions on the commission
are now filled.
