Nehalem Valley Speed and Beauty car club starts on 2000 activities

The Nehalem Valley Speed
& Beauty Car Club held its first
meeting of the year last week
in Lew’s meeting room. A large
number attended for the begin­
ning of the club’s eighth year.
Glenda Delemos will serve
as president this year, with as­
sistance from vice-president
Sykes Mitchell, secretary Fran­
cine Lentz, and treasurer Beth
Delemos.
Business meetings are held
on the second Tuesday of each
month; the next one will be
February 8 at the New Hong
Kong Restaurant. Dinner will
be at 6:00 p.m. with the meet­
ing at 7:00 p.m.

The next monthly garage/
workshop meeting is planned
for February 22 in Al Delemos’
garage. Refreshments will be

Nehalem Valley Speed &
Beauty is an all-family club and
is a great way for parents and
children to be in an activity to­
gether. The annual dues are
$15.00 for individual or family!
The club’s big event of the
year is the annual “car show -
cruisin” held during the Vernon­
ia Friendship Jamboree in Au­
gust. This is a great event, and
attracts large numbers from
around the Northwest who
come to Vernonia for the fun.
Other events during the year
include participating as a club
at various “cruise-ins” and car
shows held around the North­
