certain sex offenses to register
with law enforcement agencies
where they live, and whenever
the y change the ir address.
Registration is required every
year within 10 days of their
birthday and within 10 days of
an address change.
Currently, 49 sex offenders
are registered in C olum bia
County. This does not include
those who are under active su
pervision by Columbia County
Parole and Probation for sex
offenses.
The check found that 35 of
the 49 sex offenders are in
compliance, seven are out of
com pliance and two are in jails
outside of Columbia County.
Officers were unable to verifv
the addresses or locate the
others. Of the seven who were
