tured her first ever Women’s
Division Main Event.
Meyer, 36, started on the
front row of the 16-car Street
Stock Main and led from start
to finish with his Meyer’s Auto
Body/Potter Racing Products
sponsored Plymouth Road-
runner. The 25-lap event was
a quick and rare caution-free
race, that lasted approximate
ly seven minutes. Meyer won
by eight car-lengths over Bri
an Vaughn, Longview, while
Doug Hurley, Castle Rock,

Street Stock Main Event vic
tory Saturday, July 19 at Riv

ria’s Chris Quinn, who has
been nearly unbeatable in the
Columbia County Racing As
sociation Sportsman division,
posted his third win. Don

took third and Street Stock di
vision leader Troy Schreiner,
Longview, was fourth.
“I was really glad to get my
first win because I think it was
overdue,” said Meyer, who re
ceived the nickname from
speedway announcer Leroy
Waldron after his appearance
in a Portland area Toyota tele
vision commercial in June.
“There’s nothing I can do
about having the nickname
because it seems to be stuck
with me now and it could be
worse, so I guess it’s ok. I’m
hoping to catch up with
Schreiner, but he’s got a big
lead in the standings. He’s a
very consistent driver who al
ways finishes up front and
that’s what it takes to win a
championship.”
Although he’s entered just
three of six races, Quinn is
undefeated in three Sports
man Mains and he’s certainly
one of the most talented stock
car racing drivers at the Co
lumbia County Fairgrounds
facility. Quinn started third in
the 15-car field with his Area

Paul Liner, St. Helens, on the

was delayed by seven cau
tion flags from starter Terry
Farness and Quinn was un
able to gain a big lead
throughout the 30-lap race.
He won by just two car-
lengths over Liner, the de
