WOEC looks at new BPA contract
From page 1
Hess said that one con
tract provision still was not
clear... What would happen if
WOEC was forced into “vol
untary retail wheeling”.
It appeared, Hess ex
plained, that if WOEC allowed
a customer who was using
under 10 megawatts to pur
chase power from a source
other than BPA, without being
forced to do so by law, WOEC
might have to pay BPA for lost
revenue.

picnic items will also be pro

had checked the contract;
also that the COOP’s power
supply consultant and the
power supply subcommittee i
indicate that it is a “reason-
able approach”.
The WOEC staff has been
directed to recalculate their fi
nancial projections using the
new wholesale power rate,
Director Bernie Bird said, and
to report to the board in Octo
ber. Only after those projec
tions were made, he said,
could any statements be
made about the effect of the
contract on WOEC’s retail
rates.
