sion, as Paul Liner of St. He­
lens took over first place fol­
lowing his main event win on
June 15, at River City Speed­
way. Portland’s Matt Sayre
took the checkered flag in the
street stock feature and Sue
Cardwell of St. Helens, led
from start to finish as she
captured the women’s divi­
sion 15-lap main event. In the

Peter Louis Lardy, 43, Buxton,
died June 17, 1996, at his home, af­
ter a brief illness. Recitation of the
Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. tonight
June 19, at St. Francis o f Assisi
C a tho lic C hurch in Roy. Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated
June 20 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis of
Assisi, with celebrant Fr. Ron Milli­
can, Priest M oderator of St. Mary
Catholic Church in Vernonia. Burial
rites and interment will be at Buxton
Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to
attend a reception in the basement of
St. Francis School in Roy, immedi­
ately following the cemetery rites.
Mr. Lardy was born March 3,
1953, in Hillsboro to Melvin L. and
G la dd e an (D ic k ) Lardy. He was
raised in Buxton, attended Buxton El­
ementary School and graduated from
Banks High School.

He married Darla Norman in 1974
in Hillsboro. They made their home in
Buxton. He was employed by North­
west Energy Service in Rainier until
illness forced him to retire.

Mr. Lardy was a member of the
Catholic Church and attended St.
Francis of Assisi Church.

Survivors beside his wife and par­
ents include two sons, Melvin J. and
Louis P., both of Buxton; three broth­
ers, Melvin of Sherwood, Lawrence
of Buxton and Michael of Banks; two
sisters Nancy Lazott of Rainier and
Joan Burnsed of Vernonia; many
nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that remem­
brances be contributions to a charity
of one’s choice.
Fuiten-Rose Chapel is in charge
of arrangements.
