Community Home Health/Hospice in
Longview. Services were held Jan. 2
at the Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary

Mr. Mellinger was bom Sept 20,
1910, in Vernonia, to Perry O., and
Pearly M. (Dereberiy) Mellinger. He
g ra d u a te d from V ernonia High
School in 1929.
He m arried G eorgia Mae Van-
Doren in 1932.
Mr. Mellinger was a logger most
of his life, retiring from Crown Zeller-
bach at age 65. He served m any
years as a volunteer fireman, begin
ning in 1947, for the Clatskanie Vol
unteer Fire Department. He was Fire
Chief for 14 years. He then served
on the Board of Directors from 1972
until 1985.
He owned and operated the Rich
field Service Station, the Clatskanie
Furniture Store and the Montgomery
Ward Catalog Store, all in Clatskanie.

Frederick Ruby, 92, Aloha, died
Dec. 20, 1995, at his home. Funeral
services were held Dec. 23 at At-
trell’s Newberg Chapel with Pastor
Ken Warren of the Norwood Bible
Church in Tualatin officiating. Inurn
ment was in Valley View Memorial
Park Mausoleum, Newberg.
Mr. Ruby was born June 17,
1903, in Unity, Wise., to Benjamin C.
and Adele Schmale Ruby. He lived in
western So. Dakota for many years.
He married Naomi Krause in Het
tinger, N.D. in 1928. They moved to
Oregon in 1960. He worked at Meri
wether National Golf Course for 23
years before retiring in 1983.
Mr. Ruby was a member of the
Norwood Bible Church in Tualatin.
Survivors, in addition to his wife,
include two sons, Ben of Hillsboro,
and Boyd, a Vernonia builder, of
Scappoose; three daughters, Carol
Breidenbach of Tualatin, June Metz
of Vancouver, Wash., and Eleanor
Halvorson of Ocean Park, Wash.; 15

Mr. Sanders was an engineer for
Goodyear Tires for ten years, then
was self-employed for many years.
At the age of 39, he enrolled at Biola
College. Upon graduation, he served
his first pastorate at the Mist-Birken-
feld Community Church. He later
moved to Westport, where he served
as pastor of Westport Community
Church until his retirement. He also
served as interim pastor there until
his death.
He was preceded in death by his
wife in 1992; a son, Dale in 1993,
and a second son, Leslie, in 1994.
Survivors indude a son, Paul, of
Brownsville, Texas; two daughters,
Rosemary G inther o f Astoria and
Donna Sanders of Oregon City; eight
grandchildren.

Daniel Dominguez Sr., 70, Hills
boro, died Dec. 26, 1995. A rosary

St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Mr. Dominguez was bom Jan. 16,
1925, in Runge, Texas. He married
Juanita Rico in 1951. They moved to
Hillsbcro in 1966.
He worked on farms and, later, as
a custodian for the City of Hillsboro
for 15 years.
Mr. Dominguez was a member of
the Catholic Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife,
include sons, Ramiro and Daniel Jr.,
both of Hillsboro, and Ricardo of Alo
