Vernonia Police Department
In June, 1994, the Vernon
ia Police Department arrested
three individuals on outstand
ing warrants. All three were
transported and lodged in the
C olum bia County Jail. The
charges on the warrants were
resisting arrest, parole viola
tion and felony driving while
suspended.
Six s e p a ra te lo c a tio n s
were posted with nuisance
abatement orders. The nui
sances were regarding un
sightly junk on or about the
property. All six complied with
the orders by cleaning up the
property.
June 11, three ju ve n ile s
were arrested for curfew vio
la tio n s . A ll th re e w ere
released to their parents and
re fe rre d to th e C o lu m b ia
County Juvenile Department.
Three individuals were cit
ed for allowing dogs to be a
public nuisance.
June 17, at a b o u t 4:35
p.m., an individual was a r
rested for disorderly conduct.
Police were advised that a
male subject was causing a
disturbance in front of U.S.
Bank and was extremely in
toxicated. Subject was trans
p o rte d and lo d g e d in the
Columbia County Jail.
June 23rd and 24th Ver
nonia Police investigated two
criminal mischief complaints
in which tires were slashed
on v e h ic le s on E. B rid g e
Street near Vernonia Lake.
