members hosted guests from
the fo u r o th e r C o lum bia
C ounty s e n io r ce n te rs fo r
lunch. Seventy-nine people
were served, Nellie Tipton
reports.
The visitors stayed around
after lunch to browse the flea
m arket and book store fo r
items to take home. The next
gathering of the 5 Area se
niors will be April 28th at the
St. Helens senior center.

friends, neighbors and kin
folks congregated at the cen
ter on April 2nd to celebrate
his 95th birth da y. M any

came and went during the af
ternoon, sharing coffee, cake,
cookies and happy memories
of a former time, listening to
the music of a guitar and the
voices of a family group.
A highlight of the afternoon
was the reading by Noakes of
one of his many poems, this
