taken at the recently opened
S ta rtire S tudios, in M ay's
Plaza, St Helens, is quite dif
ferent than in most studios
When Wayne and his wife.
Suzanne, started their bust
ness they wanted a photo stu
dio where people could relax
that, they feel is the key to a
good portrait So when an
appointment is made, plenty
of time is allowed customers
are even invited to bnng along
several changes of clothes
The custom ers may also
select the backdrop, and in
addition Suzanne is a trained
hair and make up consultant
Technically the W ilsons
also have the necessary tram
mg and background
Both of them handle photo
graphic duties but Wayne has
20 years experience in pho
tography

teenager when he went to
work tor a photographer at a
race track Then he snapped

Right now the Wilsons are
being kept close to the studio
with senior class pictures, but
when their schedule allows
they prefer going to a cus
,omer's home for photo ses
sions
They also do team
photos, weddings and many
other types ot photography
A goal ot $5 000, more
than double the amount usu
ally spent has been se, tor
next year's pyrotechnic dis
play because 1991 will also
be the city's centennial Mario

Like many aspiring busi
nesspeople in Vernonia they
found the business clim ate
disappointing So they are
now in the process ot closing
out their 5c & 10c stock to
make room for a different en
terprise
Anticipating a growing in
,erest in horseback riding in
the wake o, the Banks Ver
noma Linear State Park their
store has been re christened
"Old Time Tack & Feed ”
