Each participant will be re
quired to give a memorized
speech on why she thinks
she should be Rodeo Queen
and how she would promote
the Colum bia County Fair
and Rodeo if selected Par
ticipants will be asked rodeo
related questions be judged
for equitation, required to
perform a stock horse type
pattern make a grand entry
and welcome
Three girls will be selected
to represent Columbia Coun
ty at the county fa ir and

At 12,000 square feet the
new facility is approximately
three times larger than the
old b u ild ing leased from
Columbia County It includes
7 000 square feet of ware
house space, plus 5,000
square feet tor offices and a
meeting room

The Vernonia High School Loggers battled a tenacious Neah-Kah-Nle team on January 13,
but came out on the losing side ot the score They enjoyed a big win over Lutheran early In

After two losses early this month, the Vernonia High School girls basketball team bounced
back with two strong wins against Neah-Kah-Nle and Portland Adventist, even though
leading scorer Jenl Proha ska missed all four games because of an Injury. Starter Darllee
Aultman also missed the Neah-Kah-Nle game, shown In the picture above Through January
15, the Lady Loggers were 7-3 overall and 2-2 In league play
