erty leave on police arrival.
10:53 a.m., 2500 block S. Roos-
evelt: A burglary is reported.
10:08 p.m., 300 block S. Frank-
lin: Caller reports unwanted
male pounding on the door.
11:01 p.m., 12th and Holla-
day: Caller reports a woman
screaming.

7:57 a.m., 15th and Franklin:
A dog at large is reported;
the dog is back inside when
police arrive but owner won’t
respond to their knock.
9:32 a.m., Old Seaside High
School: Male reported sleeping
in the dugout.

hanna: Woman says her hus-
band won’t let her back inside
the house.
6:15 p.m., 900 block Avenue S:
A deceased person is reported.

missing person is reported.

ed. The caller said they were
assaulted.

A person is arrested on multi-

evelt: A dog reported at large
is located and lodged at the
kennel.

12:30 a.m., 1300 block Second
Avenue: An intoxicated female
says her husband won’t let her
leave the house.
8:27 a.m., 1200 block S. Wahan-
na: Caller reports a restraining
order has been violated.
10:55 p.m., N. Holladay: Caller
reports a domestic disturbance
that happened in the past.

1:16 a.m., U.S. Highway 26: Car
vs elk.
8:34 a.m., Outlet Mall: Man
hanging around the back of
the property is arrested for
criminal trespass.
New virus cases reported
at Warrenton care home

The Oregon Health
Authority has reported nine
coronavirus cases at Clat-
sop Care Memory Com-
munity, a care home in
Warrenton.
The outbreak, fi rst
reported Jan. 28, was dis-
closed last week in the
health authority’s weekly
report.
The care home, part of
the Clatsop Care Health
District, has no active virus
cases, Hannah Olson, the
facility’s
administrator,
said.
Olson said the outbreak
peaked at 10 virus cases
and was entirely among
staff . She said no one was
hospitalized as a result.
“Everyone’s doing well,
and everyone is healthy,
and it was pretty mild,”
Olson said. “It was much
better than this last time.”
Last summer, Clatsop
Care Memory Community,
which houses residents
with dementia, experienced
an outbreak of 37 virus
cases among residents and
staff . Five residents died.
In Seaside, Suzanne
Elise Assisted Living Com-
munity is listed in the
weekly outbreak report as
having 12 virus cases — up
from an initially reported
eight — tied to an outbreak
fi rst reported on Jan. 11.
Administrators
at
Suzanne Elise referred The
Astorian to Avamere Heath
Services LLC, the facili-
ty’s owner-operator based
in Wilsonville. Avamere
Heath Services could not
immediately be reached for
comment.
The health authority
also disclosed that an out-
break reported at Colum-
bia Memorial Hospital in
Astoria in late January now
stands at 24 virus cases.
The investigation started
Jan. 19.
Nancee Long, the hospi-
tal’s communications direc-
tor, said in an email that the
hospital has no new infor-
mation on the outbreak.

The woman was headed
southbound when she lost
control of the wheel while ne-
gotiating a curve and passed
over the centerline, hitting
the other driver head on. His
car was towed and she was
given a citation for driving too
fast due to road conditions.
No injuries were reported.
1:18 p.m., 19th and Franklin:
Caller is concerned about a
transient camping in the area.
5:49 a.m., 200 block First Ave-
nue: EMS call.

3:37 p.m., 2700 block S. Roos-
evelt: A person is arrested on a
warrant.
7:42 a.m., 1000 block S. Down-
ing: EMS call.
Chase M. Franklin, 35, was
arrested Feb. 7 at 11:43 p.m.
while a trooper on patrol saw
a car being towed on U.S.
Highway 101 near milepost
18. The trooper observed the
vehicles were in violation of
traffic laws and a traffic stop
was initiated.
11:01 p.m., Mill Ponds: Fire in-
vestigation.
10:06 p.m., 900 block, First Ave-
nue: EMS call.

6:29 a.m., 10th and Prom: Sub-
jects reported making a mess
with beer cans and sleeping in
their vehicle are advised of or-
dinances.
9:24 p.m., S. Holladay and Ave-
nue E: Smoke is reported com-
ing from a building. Firefi ghters
respond.
9:54 a.m., 2100 block S. Frank-
lin: Police receive a report
about possible drug activity at
a residence and a request for a
welfare check on a child living
there.

Two-car accident
3:49 p.m., 400 block N. Holla-
day: A caller reports their car
was illegally entered.
A 71–year old Seaside wom-
an and a 17-year-old Sea-
side man were involved in
a two-car accident Feb. 7 at
8:21 p.m., 800 block Avenue C:
A disturbance is reported.
Neither driver had identi-
fication or drivers’ licenses
on them. One driver, who
turned out to be Franklin,
gave a name and a date of
birth which turned out not
to match any records. He of-
fered another name and was
subsequently arrested and
taken to the county jail. The
other driver was a 50-year-
old Seaside man. He was not
arrested.
Stolen car discovered
A car reported stolen was
discovered by troopers Feb.
13 at 10:09 a.m., on U.S. High-
way 26 near milepost 1. The
car was reported stolen by
Vancouver police. Gary’s Tow
towed it to the Cannon Beach
Service Center and the vehi-
cle’s owner was notified.
Crash on Highway 26
A crash was reported Feb. 15
at 6:05 p.m. on U.S. Highway
26 near milepost 14.5. The
operator of a Chevy SUV said
while heading east he en-
tered a curve when a U-Haul
trailer behind him began
losing traction. Both vehicles
tried to brake but the U-Haul
began sliding; one car hit
the guardrail while the other
spun out into the roadway. A
U-Haul representative arrived
on scene. Both vehicles were
towed. No injuries were re-
ported.
Driver hits ice
A one-car crash occurred Feb.
22 at 8:01 a.m., on U.S. High-
way 26 and milepost 8 when
the driver hit ice and his car
slid off the paved portion of
the highway and rolled on
to its top before stopping.
Hamlet firefighters, ODOT
and Gary’s Tow assisted at
the scene. The 43-year-old
driver from Portland, was not
injured.
