A trip to Seaside’s Downtown Wine Walk Trail’s End paints in
the great outdoors
By EVE MARX

On Saturday, May 18, 22 local
businesses and regional wineries par-
ticipated in Seaside’s Downtown
Wine Walk, organized and orches-
trated by the Seaside Downtown
Development Association.
Each business played host to a bar-
tended tasting of an extraordinary
selection of Oregon wine. Twenty
dollars bought a glass; guided by col-
orful Wine Walk banners displayed
outside participating businesses, par-
ticipants traversed Seaside on foot to
enjoy a plethora of amazing wines
from vineyards all over Oregon for a
nominal fee of a dollar or two for a
quarter-glass.
Slight drizzle did not deter hun-

dreds of people from attending the
event. The mood was upbeat and glee-
ful as many were taking selfi es and
pictures of friends holding up their
glass to post on #seasidewinewalk not
just for fun, but to enter a competition
for two free tickets to the fall Wine
Walk to take place on Nov. 9.
Trail’s End Gallery will
open a new show during the
Gearhart ArtWalk on Satur-
day, June 1, featuring the gal-
lery’s pastel group of eight
which meet weekly at the
gallery.
A reception will be held in
their honor from 2 to 5 p.m.
Other Trail’s End artists
will be displaying their work
around the gallery, which
is located at 656 A Street in
Gearhart.
The pastel group is made
up of intermediate and
advanced pastel artists. It was
started by Kathy Moberg and
has been meeting for at least
15 years.
In May this group will
be moving to the outdoors
weekly, painting in various
scenic spots along the coast in
Washington and Oregon.
Trail’s End is the oldest
gallery on the North Coast,
having been built as a school-
house in the early 1900s and
reverted to art classrooms and
a gallery mid-century.
For further information,
contact the gallery during
from Wednesday through Sun-
day, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; 503-
