The Seaside Fire Depart-
ment announced the advance-
ment of Doug Roberts to the
rank of Firefighter 1.
Roberts joined Seaside
Fire and Rescue in 2015 af-
ter retiring and moving to
Seaside and wanting to in his
words “look for something
fun that would give back to
his new community,” the de-
partment announced.
In addition to his firefight-
er certification he is a licensed
emergency medical respond-
er.
Through Jan. 1, the Sea-
side Police Department, along
with other Clatsop County law
enforcement agencies, will be
participating in the driving un-
der the influence of intoxicants,
high visibility enforcement
grant from Oregon Impact.
As Seaside Police partici-
pate in this event, the depart-
ment will have extra officers
patrolling the roadways, spe-
cifically looking for impaired
drivers. It is important to re-
member impairment is not
limited to the consumption of
alcohol. Impairment can come
from marijuana, illegal drugs
or certain prescription medica-
tions.
Police ask if you see anyone
who you suspect may be oper-
ating a motor vehicle impaired,
call 911.

Drive: A person is put on mental
hold by a police officer.
9:54 p.m., The Cove: Police put a
mental hold on an individual.
11:58 p.m., Highway 101: An
injured elk was dispatched by
Oregon State Police after being
struck by a car.

2:36 a.m., 800 block S. Roos-
evelt: A person is arrested on a
warrant.
4:43 a.m., 500 block S. Edge-
wood: An intoxicated man
reported knocking on doors and
making comments of a sexual
nature was unable to be located.
4:10 p.m., 800 block N. Holla-
day Drive: A person or persons
were arrested and charged
with disorderly conduct, re-
sisting arrest, and interfering
with a police officer.
7:54 p.m., 400 block S. Roos-
evelt: A single unfired round
of ammunition was found by
the entrance to a business.

stalking order was given to a
resident who inquired about
a neighborhood disturbance
involving other parties.
12:58 p.m., S. Downing: A driv-
er stopped for speeding is dis-
covered to have a suspended
license and no insurance. They
are cited for these violations
and their vehicle is towed.

person is arrested on a warrant
and in possession of heroin.

Roosevelt: Drug debris found
on the floor of a business
is collected and tagged for

in a bathroom stall with a dog.

bia: An intoxicated man whose
girlfriend said he was verbally
abusive and throwing things
around inside the residence was
told by police to be quiet and

advised to contact the police if
he continued the behavior.
12:57 p.m., Broadway: Caller re-
ports transient with an aggres-
sive dog. Police make contact
with the subject and say the
dog is not at all aggressive.
2:29 p.m. 700 block Holladay:
Police say a woman who made
superficial cuts to her forearms
and talked about ending her life
was intoxicated. She accused
the police of protecting drug
dealers. Medix arrived on scene
to transport her to Providence
Seaside Hospital for detox and
evaluation. Hospital security
was alerted.

Caller describes two intoxicated
men jumping a fence near the
post office; caller says one ap-
pears to have hit his head, but
continued running, straight into

area are unable to locate.

Avenue: Police conduct a
welfare check on a male subject
reported to be suicidal.
