Seniors Bryre Babbitt and
Colton Carter both joined Sea-
side High School’s Associated
Student Body leadership to be
more involved in improving
their school and developing
connections between students
and the community.
For Carter, who started as
treasurer his junior year and
now is student body president,
gradually becoming more
engaged in school events
through student council has
provided an increasing num-
ber of opportunities to work
with and for other students,
and the Seaside community as
a whole.
“It just opens up the va-
riety of people you have the
opportunity to meet and con-
nect with,” he said. “That’s
really cool to see how many
new faces of people you rec-
ognize and know and can talk
to, compared to what it used
to be.”
The ASB student council is
a group of 11 representatives
— who can be any classifica-
tion except freshman — that
focuses on improving cam-
pus life and helping students
have a positive effect outside
