Seaside residents arrested for
heroin trafficking, child neglect

Two Seaside residents
who were supervising nu-
merous children and puppies
were arrested Wednesday,
July 12, on heroin trafficking
charges.

The Clastop County Sher-
iff’s Office and Seaside Po-
lice found Austin Randall
Perry-Wenner, 24, and Mi-
chelle Renee Brelin, 45, in
possession of heroin, digital
scales, packaging material, a
stun gun and a black Sig Sau-
er replica handgun.
Three children, two dogs
and 11 puppies also were lo-
cated inside a residence at 841
Second Ave. Two of the chil-
dren were placed under the
care of state Child Protective
Services, while the other was
returned to her parent or guard-
ian. The animals were taken to
the Seaside City Kennel.
The two were charged
with delivery of heroin with-
in 1,000 feet of a school and
two counts of first-degree
child neglect. They also
may be charged with animal
abuse after further evidence
analysis.
Brelin is scheduled to be
arraigned on an indictment
in Circuit Court next week.
Perry-Wenner, who has al-
ready pleaded not guilty, is
scheduled to appear later this
month.

S. Columbia: A person is
arrested and charged with
driving under the influence of
intoxicants.
1:27 p.m., 400 block S. Holla-
day: A landlord attempting to
evict a tenant of two months
was informed by police what
they were doing is illegal; the
landlord must go through the
proper eviction process to
remove the tenant.
July 1
10:00 a.m., 1100 block Ave-
nue A: Subject reports person
trying to steal a statue. The
complainant wanted police
to inform the person to move
along. The subject was told to
move along.
12:26 p.m., 200 block S.
Roosevelt: Police respond to
a report of a subject striking
their child. Police are unable
to locate but a countywide
alert is put out.
1:52 p.m., Avenue A and Riv-
erwalk: Two adults screaming
at children arouse the concern
of a passerby who notifies
the police. Police contacting
the adults advise them of the
complaint.
July 2
1:24 a.m., 900 block S. Holla-
day: An assault is reported.
10:26 a.m. 1700 block S.
Franklin: Police respond to a
report of unattended children
drawing with chalk in the
street. Police responding find
no children but plenty of
sidewalk chalk.
3:10 p.m., 2400 block S. Roo-
sevelt: Caller reports couple
arguing loudly in a car. Officer
making contact says couple
is fighting over a dog video.
They are advised of disorderly
conduct.
July 3
reports a man bent over a
female lying on the sidewalk.
It was unclear what was hap-
pening. Officers checking the
area were unable to locate.
8:00 a.m., Chamber restroom:
A subject is warned for smok-
ing marijuana in public.
12:41 a.m., 1000 block S.
Downing: A person is charged
for a fireworks offense.
9:08 a.m., 1100 block Broad-
way: A person in violation of a
restraining order is arrested.
12:42 a.m., Avenue L and
Columbia: Another person
is charged for a fireworks
offense.
9:35 a.m., 700 block Avenue
B: Caller reported a strange
man who came to her door
to talk to her boyfriend. Caller
said the visitor gave her “a
weird feeling.”
11:03 a.m., Holladay and First:
An animal complaint is made
regarding a skinny black Lab-
rador who is nursing pups.
July 4
3:13 a.m., Highway 101: A se-
rious motor vehicle accident is
reported. There is one fatality.
7:24 a.m., 1700 block Spruce:
Caller reports female subject
“on drugs and yelling for help.”
Officers responding find a
man trying to catch his pet
parrot who got outside and
was loose.
July 6
11:57 a.m., 500 block Broad-
way: A person is charged with
unauthorized use of a motor
vehicle as well as criminal tres-
pass in the second degree.
3:11 p.m., 1000 block S.
Columbia: Police respond to a
report of suspicious behavior
at a residence where burglary
is suspected. Upon arrival and
interviewing the subjects,
police learn the subjects are
there to clean the place.
14:24 p.m., Beach Drive:
Caller reports a subject they
say has been intoxicated for 4
days and who built a fire pit in
their shared driveway. Police
making contact deem this a
civil matter.
4:29 p.m., Lea Way: A distur-
bance is reported.
  July 5
12:12 a.m., 2400 block S.
Roosevelt: Police respond to
a 911 call; subject tells police
who knock at their door that
they are fine and do not wish
to inflict self harm.
12:26 a.m., Broadway: Sub-
jects are warned against drink-
ing alcohol on the sidewalk.
1:00 a.m. Turnaround: A dis-
turbance is reported.
4:16 a.m., S. Wahanna: Caller
9:55 p.m., Ocean Shores and
Avenue E: An assault in the
fourth degree is reported.
July 7
9:12 a.m., Semaphore 3 and
the Beach: Police respond to
a report of a woman yelling
and washing her clothing in
the ocean. Subject is advised
to keep to herself and told she
can wash her clothes in the
ocean as long as she is inside
the clothes and not exposing
herself.
Prom: A man reported to be
sleeping in the dunes is awak-
ened and given a courtesy
ride to a responsible party.
9:52 a.m., Avenue A: Police
respond to a report from
an employee at Wheel Fun
rentals regarding a subject
urinating on the side of the
business. Police permanently
trespass the subject from all
the business’s locations.
12:38 p.m., Broadway: Some
people reported to be smok-
ing marijuana in public turned
out to be smoking hand rolled
tobacco cigarettes.
10:27 a.m., Highway 101:
Police respond to a report
of a person carrying a large
white bundle into the woods.
Upon making contact, police
determine the subject is a bee
harvester and this is his bee
clothing.
July 8
6:19 a.m., Providence
Hospital emergency room:
Police are called to deal with a
hostile subject. The person is
trespassed from the emergen-
cy room unless they have a life
threatening injury.
8:54 p.m., Broadway: A person
is arrested and charged with
assault in the fourth degree.
July 9
5:40 p.m. Avenue B and Holla-
day: An assault is reported.
July 10
1:37 a.m., Avenue N and the
3:10 a.m., 1700 block 12th
Avenue: An intoxicated wom-
an was given a courtesy ride
home.
July 11
8:50 a.m., 2400 block High-
way 101: Caller complains that
a man who waves at passing
vehicles in return is honked
at. The caller says the honking
“rattles the walls of my house.”
Police investigating can find
no waving person.
2:45 p.m., The Prom: An as-
sault in the fourth degree was
reported.
7:13 p.m., Keepsake Drive:
Caller reports loud noise she
believes is coming from a
vehicle parked somewhere in
her area. Police responding
can only hear the roar of the
ocean. Caller is advised.
July 12
2:42 a.m., N. Holladay: An
assault in the fourth degree is
reported.
7:25 a.m., 3000 block Sunset
Blvd: Police respond to a
report of a disturbance in the
woods behind a residence.
A couple are engaged in a
verbal altercation. They agree
to separate.
11:06 a.m., 500 block Beach
Drive: Police respond to a
report that someone is going
around putting up signs indi-
cating that “Maggie’s On The
Prom” is only open to hotel
guests, which is not the case.
Besides unlawfully posting
signs, no crime has been
committed. Police are on the
lookout for the culprit.
3:58 p.m., 1100 block Avenue
F: Police respond to a request
for a welfare check of a
Seaside resident; the woman
is subsequently located at an
associated address in Gearhart
and is fine.
July 13
10:52 a.m., 1600 block Spruce
Drive: Police respond to a
report of a family of raccoons
caught in a vent. The raccoons
are not stuck. No further
action was taken.
10:54 a.m., N. Roosevelt:
Police respond to a report of
a man wearing only boxer
shorts and boots lying on the
ground and “hip thrusting” the
air. The subject is advised.
7:58 p.m., 300 block Broad-
way: A man reported as be-
having in a suspicious manner
turned out to be eating a
salad. He said he was eating
his dinner.
