Six arrested in Seaside drug bust

Six people were arrest-
ed in Seaside early Tuesday,
April 18, on drug trafficking

charges.
Authorities found meth-
amphetamine, heroin, pre-
scription pills, digital scales,
packaging materials and a
handgun at a residence in
the 222 Third Ave. apartment
complex.

On Wednesday, April 19,
at 8:15 p.m. a disturbance was
reported at a residence in the
1300 block of Second Avenue.
The subjects were located leav-
ing the area in a vehicle and
stopped by responding Seaside
Police officers.
After brief contact and at-
tempts by officers to have the
involved occupants get out
of the vehicle to talk about
the disturbance investigation,
Christopher Rogich, 24, fled
the area in the vehicle with a
female passenger.
A pursuit ensued and even-
tually ended along the Young’s
Bay Bridge near Astoria. Rog-
ich was taken into custody on
multiple charges including
eluding a police officer, reck-
lessly endangering another
person, reckless driving, in-
terfering with a police officer,
resisting arrest and kidnapping
II. The kidnapping charge was
added after the female passen-
ger of the vehicle later indicat-
ed the driver would not stop for
police during the pursuit after
being asked to do so.
Rogich was identified as the
boyfriend of the female passen-
ger. The female passenger was
not arrested and later released
with her infant child, who had
been found to be in the vehicle
with the parents after the pur-
suit ended. The case has been
forwarded to the Clatsop Coun-
ty District Attorney’s Office.

Drive: A domestic incident
occurred when a mother got
into an argument, verbal in
nature only, with her daughter
regarding curfew time. Both
parties agreed to keep calm for
the rest of the evening.
6:19 p.m., 1700 block S. Roo-
sevelt: Caller complains a Lab-
rador retriever at large nearly at-
tacked him. Officers chased dog
back to its residence. The owner
was contacted and advised of
the dog’s behavior.

iff’s Office had been leading
the drug trafficking investi-
gation and made the arrests
with help from the Seaside
Police Department. Addi-
tional charges may follow as
the investigation continues.

evelt: Police respond to a report
of a trespasser on private prop-
erty; subject is apprehended.
They are wanted on a warrant.
Heroin was found in their
possession.
7:25 p.m., 1700 block Spruce: A
person is arrested in violation of
a restraining order.
9:02 p.m., 300 block S. Edge-
wood: A person is arrested in
violation of a restraining order.
April 9
8:34 p.m., 1600 block Whisper-
ing Pines Drive: Subpoena is
served.
9:30 a.m., Avenue G: Police
respond to a call regarding a
man sleeping in his car. Man
tells police he is fine and is just
tired.
11:36 a.m., 1100 block Jeffrey
Drive: Caller reports a woman
threw an ax at him. Woman tells
police she did not throw it at
anyone, she just threw it. Police
cite her for disorderly conduct.
April 10
7:52 a.m., 17th and Holladay:
Caller reports a vehicle stopped
in front of a stop sign but with
no one behind the wheel. Police
contact owner of vehicle who
says he will move it.
Holladay Drive: Caller reports
a possibly intoxicated driver
leaving the gas station. Police
are unable to locate.
April 12
12:06 p.m., Seaside High
School: Caller reports a man
walking in circles and flailing
his arms. Police locate subject
and tell him to stay out of the
roadway.
9:03 p.m., The Cove: A digital
camera left behind at the Cove
is turned into the police station.
April 13
2:55 p.m., 3rd Avenue: Police
search for a subject reported to
be suicidal. Subject is unable to
be located.
3:08 a.m., 400 block S. Roos-
evelt: Officer contacted three
juveniles out past curfew who
were warned of their behavior.
3:44 p.m., 12th Avenue Bridge:
Caller reports a man walking
around screaming at the sky.
Subject gone upon police
arrival.
11:32 a.m., 500 N. Holladay: A
theft in the second degree is
reported.
6:07 p.m., 2100 block Lewis
and Clark Road: A missing
person is reported.
6:49 p.m., 200 block N. Down-
ing: Trespassing Dumpster
divers are warned against their
activity.
April 11
4:20 p.m., Seaside High School:
Caller reports man sitting in
ditch. Police contacting the
man say he is watching the
athletes after visiting the Food
Bank.
5:54 p.m., N. Holladay Drive:
Caller reports a woman crying
on the River Walk. Woman tells
police she is fine and just expe-
riencing some personal issues.
9:30 p.m., 1200 block S.
6:18 p.m., Highway 101: Gear-
hart police are assisted.
April 14
3:43 p.m., 300 block N. Down-
ing: A couple having a loud
verbal disagreement are report-
ed to police as a disturbance;
the couple left the area prior to
police arrival.
6:33 p.m., 400 block S. Holla-
day: Police respond to a report
of a disturbance; upon arrival it
is determined that the woman
head-butted the man. He is not

12:00 a.m., 700 block S. Wah-
anna: Police go to the home of
a patient who left the hospital
against doctor’s orders and
return them to the hospital for
continued treatment.
12:44 a.m., 2100 block S. Frank-
lin: Police respond to a verbal
disturbance; parties agree to
separate for the evening.
2:35 a.m., Oceanway re-
strooms: Police assist a person
who fell and hurt their head;
subject is transported to Provi-
dence Seaside Hospital.
11:21 a.m., Highway 101: A
person is put on a mental hold
by police officers.
11:32 a.m., 400 block S. Roos-
evelt: Caller reports as suspi-
cious behavior a man talking to
a little girl. Subjects were gone
on arrival; police were unable to
located.
11:53 a.m., 12th and Roosevelt:
Caller reports a dead cat on the
side of the road. Police retrieve
a stuffed toy horse. The animal
is taken into police custody.
1:44 p.m., Avenue U and the
beach: A dog bite is reported.
6:03 a.m., 2400 block Pine: A
missing person is reported.

Downing: A disturbance is
reported.
3:37 p.m., Avenue A: Caller
reports an intoxicated woman
in the alley. Police are unable to
locate.
10:51 a.m., Broadway and Roo-
sevelt: Caller at City Hall reports
a man lying on the ground and
hopping around. Subject was
contacted and advised.
4:40 p.m., Ebb Tide and the
beach: Caller reports a large
group of people tormenting a
seal on the beach. The Aquari-
um is contacted and says they
will post signs.
April 19
7:20 p.m., Beach and Avenue G:
Caller reports man yelling that
no one was helping an injured
seal on the beach. The man was
attempting to push it back into
the water. The aquarium had al-
ready posted signs to leave the
seal alone. The man was warned
by police not to interfere with
wildlife or he would receive a
substantial fine.
April 17
3:35 a.m., 400 block Avenue C:
Caller complains to police about
a man playing loud music and
sleeping in his car. Police advise

Holladay: Caller reports possibly
intoxicated man meandering
in traffic.
3:04 p.m., Forest Drive: Officer
contacts responsible party
at Suzanne Elise regarding a
subject found on ground after
falling earlier in the day. The
person is injured but denies
being injured by another party.
April 20
10:35 p.m., Roosevelt Drive:
Caller reports possibly intox-
icated driving a vehicle and
shouting at other drivers and
playing loud music. Officers are
unable to locate.
