Friends of the Seaside Library presents…
Parenting classes offered at
Seaside Heights Elementary
The life and times of Woody Guthrie
The Friends of the Seaside
Library welcomes folksing-
er, storyteller, and autoharp
virtuoso, Adam Miller, on
Thursday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m.
The musical program tells the
story of the life and times of
Woody Guthrie.
Guthrie wrote more than
1,000 songs in his lifetime and
his musical legacy includes
political, traditional, and chil-
dren’s songs, along with bal-
lads and improvised works.
Miller will tell Guthrie’s sto-
ry through song and the spo-
ken word and the audience is
encouraged to sing-along to
some American classics.
One of the premier auto-
harpists in the world, Adam
Miller is a renowned Ameri-
can folksinger and storyteller.
An accomplished folklorist,
historian, musicologist, and
song collector, he has amassed
a repertoire of over 5,000
songs. Miller accompanies
his baritone voice with lively
finger-picking acoustic guitar
and autoharp melodies. His
time-honored traditional folk
songs and ballads interweave
stories that evoke a by-gone
time when entertainment was
homemade.
Miller has performed at the
Walnut Valley Bluegrass Fes-
tival, the Tumbleweed Music
Festival, and the Kentucky
Music Weekend.
