The Washington Coun- ty 6heriII¶s OI¿ce says 36-year-old Andrew Dehart was taken to a hospital late Wednesday and was pro- nounced dead. The high- way east of Oregon 47 was closed through the night. The sheriff¶s of¿ce said Dehart was wanted for at- tempted murder, kidnap- ping and assault charges in Clark County, Washington. U.S. Marshals found him at a friend’s home in Seaside, Eut he Àed as the marshals waited for Eackup to arrive. Authorities say Dehart shot at police cars, disaEling one of them, and continued shooting until he reached a tunnel. Sheriff’s Sgt. %oE Ray says three of¿cers got out of their at the east end of the tunnel. They ¿red at Dehart and his truck came to a stop. A woman who emEe]]led more than $250,000 over three years while working as a Eookkeeper for a small residential treatment facility in Seaside was sentenced Monday, Nov. 1, to three years in prison for violating her proEa- tion. .aren Anne Noel SaEer, 55, of Asto- ria, was originally sentenced last year to ¿ve years proEation. She was ordered to pay Eack $30,000 within a year Ey liT- uidating her property. After a year, she was reTuired to pay $500 a month until the $250,000 was paid in full. Since Eeing placed on proEation last year, SaEer has only paid $622.50. Judge Paula Brownhill revoked Sa- Eer’s proEation Monday since she failed to pay the minimum of $30,000. SaEer was arrested last month on a war- rant, and appeared in court Monday for the proEation viola- tion hearing. In addition, Sa- Eer violated her Karen Anne proEation Ey failing Noel Saber to report a new ad- dress to her proEa- tion of¿cer. She pleaded guilty in July 2014 to emEe]]ling the money from the prior owners of Awakenings Ey the Sea in Seaside. She pleaded guilty to 36 counts of ¿rst-degree theft during the second day of a trial in Clatsop County Circuit Court. The Seaside-Eased residential facil- ity opened in 2007. Officer arrived and con- tacted group and warned them about disorderly conduct. the whole downtown area, and spoke to complainant, but were unable to locate the suspect. Sept. 21 Sept. 22 12:18 a.m., Cannon Beach: Officer assisted Cannon Beach Police with a DUI investigation. 10:51 a.m., Quatat Park: Report of people going under the dock. Area is known for criminal activity. Officers made contact; subjects warned for going under the dock. 11:37 a.m., Broadway: Caller re- ported shoplifter who just left store. Officers responded and checked 7:02 p.m., Turnaround: Multiple 911 callers reported female act- ing strangely. Officers delayed due to priority call. Female was gone upon arrival. Sept. 23 8:14 a.m., Turnaround: 911 caller reported subject pulling flowers and yelling in the area. Officer responded and made contact, warned for disorderly conduct. 12:13 p.m., 200 block of South Roosevelt Drive: 911 caller report- ed subject walking down the street, acting strange, possibly a danger to herself. Officer respond- ed and made contact. Subject was not a danger to herself or others. 10:17 p.m., 12th Avenue and Necanicum Drive: Subject warned for unlawful lodging and parking issue. Sept. 24 6:51 a.m., 400 block of North Prom: Report of an unwanted per- son; subject trespassed indefinitely. 12:52 p.m., Avenue A and Roos- evelt Drive: Caller reported sub- ject with sign soliciting marijua- na.
