of the closet

WARRENTON — Warrenton police
arrested John Perry, 28, of Seaside on
charges of second-degree burglary and
resisting arrest after Perry was discovered
in a closet in the First Baptist Church on
NE 1st Street in the afternoon Oct. 15.
The pastor’s wife was at the church and
called 911 around 1:30 p.m., saying she
had heard something and thought there
ZDVDSHUVRQLQWKHFKXUFK:KHQRI¿FHUV
arrived, no one was there. They searched
WKHEXLOGLQJDQGRQHRI¿FHUZHQWWRFKHFN
a closed closet door. When he tried to turn

door swung open; Perry was inside. When

rest, he struggled and tried to get away. He
was eventually handcuffed and transported
to the county jail.

North Holladay Drive: Caller
reported unwanted subject
annoying and trying to fight
other tenants. Officers made
contact with subject.
5:36 a.m., 400 block of South
Roosevelt Drive: Citizen came
into lobby and reported
a male subject possibly
breaking into vehicle. Officer
checked the area; the vehicle
was fine. Checking the area
for subject. Unable to locate
on subject described.
11:19 a.m., 200 block of
Broadway: Caller reported
subjects camping at back
doorway. Officer responded
and made contact. Subjects
warned for unlawful lodging
and are moving on.
7:31 p.m., 1600 block of
North Franklin Drive: Officers
performed welfare check
on mentally delayed subject
that walked away from foster
home. Responsible party
arrived to pick up subject and
take them back home.
8:21 p.m., 200 block of South
Roosevelt Drive: Person called
911 to report threatening
looking person. Upon officer
contact, person explained
they weren’t trying to be
intimidating.
2:46 p.m., Pocket Park: Caller
reported subject climbing
light pole and acting oddly.
Officer responded and made
contact. No damage done,
subject warned to stay off
light pole.

1:16 a.m., North Roosevelt
Drive: Caller report driving
complaint. Officers out of
position on priority calls.
9:43 p.m., 1500 block of
South Roosevelt Drive:
Officers responded to 911 call
reporting a verbal dispute.
Broadway: Report of sawhors-
es in the street. Reporting
party advised they impeded
traffic and numerous other
issues with them. Officer
checked them, they did not
impede traffic, but they are a
code violation. Subject was
advised.
1:40 p.m., Seventh Ave-
nue and Roosevelt Drive:
Anonymous complaint about
a hurt bird. Officer picked up
the bird. Wildlife rehab center
called.
4:57 p.m., 2500 block of
Queen Street: 911 caller
requesting welfare check on
person that made a suicidal
comment. Officer checked
with subject who stated he
was not suicidal, just frus-
trated with pain. Caller was
advised.

8:54 a.m., 1500 block of
South Roosevelt Drive: Officer
assisted with trespass. Subject
was given options.
10:08 p.m., 300 block of
South Roosevelt Drive:
Officer responded to report
of suspicious person. Officer
warned subject of driving
while impaired.
9:50 p.m., South Holladay
Drive: Officer repsonded to
report of young child running
and down the sidewalk.
Officer delayed due to priority
calls. Officers checked area
where child was last seen,
unable to locate anyone
matching description.

12:34 a.m., North Downing
Street: Caller reported man
peeing on his building. Officer
responded and warned
subject.
8:06 a.m., 400 block of First
Avenue: Officers responded
to 911 call reporting a motor
vehicle accident.
10:11 p.m., 200 block of
Avenue A: 911 caller reporting
person acting aggressively
toward him, stating he
would have his dogs attack
him. Officer responded and
advised call was unfounded
after speaking with subject
with the dogs who were very
friendly and was unaware of
what the other person was
speaking of.
11:16 a.m., 700 block of Wa-
hanna Road: Officer assisted
Clatsop County Sheriff’s Of-
fice with a search for transient
camps.
10:44 p.m., 2100 block of
Fernwood Street: 911 caller re-
ported erratic driver. Officers
responded but vehicle was
gone upon arrival.
12:53 p.m., 300 block of Ave-
nue A: Report of a lost elderly
female, she was returned to
her bus.
Sept. 12
1:59 p.m., 700 block of 24th
Avenue: Caller reported vehi-
cle going through a stop sign
for second time. Officer made
contact and issued warning
regarding driving.
3:59 p.m., 500 block of
Broadway: 911 call reporting a
physical fight in front of listed
location.
8:12 p.m., 800 block of
Oceanway: Officer responded
to report of person yelling
for help. Upon officer arrival,
person fell down in street.
Husband arrived to take her
to hospital.
9:44 p.m., 400 block of
South Franklin Street: Officer
responded to 911 report of
assault. Upon officer arrival,
it was determined no assault
occurred.
7:22 p.m., 100 block of
North Holladay Drive: 911
caller reported man acting
strange. Officer responded
and contacted subject. He
was warned about disorderly
conduct and not blocking the
sidewalk.

6:47 a.m., 700 block of South
Wahanna Road: Report of
an unwanted person at the
hospital. He was trespassed
indefinitely.
9:11 a.m., 1200 block of
Sept. 17
2:43 p.m., 300 block of
South Roosevelt Drive: Caller
reporting person that was
previously trespassed on
property. Complainant did
not wish to have subject cited
a warning was issued.
Sept 13
6:11 p.m., 700 block of 14th
Avenue: 911 complaint about
a subject video recording
people. Then came out and
making threats. Officer re-
sponded; verbal only, subjects
advised.
5:43 p.m., 300 block of
North Roosevelt Drive: Caller
reporting person, possibly
intoxicated, in driver’s seat
of parked vehicle. Officer
contacted subject who stated
he had a licensed driver in the
the store and was waiting for
them.
9:27 p.m., 200 block of Ave-
nue: Anonymous 911 report
of an older male contacting
a juvenile female. Reporting
party thought it was strange.
Officer made contact, subject
had numerous photos of the
girl, also contacted mom.

5 p.m., Seaside Skate Park:
911 call. Officer assisted on
scene with injured juvenile.
Sept. 14
4:45 a.m., 300 block of Fourth
Avenue: Subject reporting
people will not let her into
the residence. Officers made
contact, the issue is civil. She
was advised.
6:46 p.m., Avenue A and
South Roosevelt Drive: Officer
responded to report of sub-
jects selling pinecones from
their vehicle. Subjects were
advised of city ordinance
regarding license.
7:03 p.m., 1100 block of
Broadway: Caller reported
person acting strange outside
the pool. Officer responded
and contacted subject. He
was advised that he was
scaring people and he agreed
to leave.
11:36 p.m., 1500 block of
South Roosevelt Drive: Officer
responded to report of rac-
coons hit by a car and may be
in need of assistance. Mother
raccoon had already taken
care of the issue.

3:55 p.m., Wahanna Road
and Broadway: 911 caller
reported a suspicious person
stepping in and out of the
street. Officers responded and
made contact. The subject
was just upset; no crime
committed.
12:14 p.m., 400 block of Sec-
ond Avenue: Caller reported
someone around a vacant
house. Officer responded and
made contact with subject.
Subject was trespassed from
property and moved on.
10:42 p.m., 300 block of
Fourth Avenue: Caller report-
ed neighbor is making a lot
of noise. Officers responded.
She will finish things up and
keep quiet.
1:38 p.m., Convention Center
Parking Lot: Caller reported
a vehicle parked illegally
and blocking the exit for the
car cruise. Called owner of
vehicle and left a message.
Officer advised. Event staff
later advised that the vehicle
had moved.
2:54 p.m., 1900 block of
North Roosevelt Drive: 911
call; assisted Seaside Fire &
Rescue, Oregon State Police
and ODOT on the scene of a
vehicle fire in front of Seaside
High School.
2:05 p.m., 200 block of Broad-
way: Caller reported subjects
warned him about disturbing
caller. He said he will stop
now.

10:04 a.m., Broadway: Com-
plaint of school bus in the
Turnaround. Officer contact-
ed driver at the Convention
Center and advised her not to
drive in the Turnaround, and
where she could park the bus.
3:58 p.m., 700 block of
South Wahanna Road: Caller
reported subject about to
drive away from the hospital,
who was under the influence
of several narcotics and illegal
drugs. Officers arrived and
spoke to all parties involved,
and person was given several
suggestions for a ride home
and warned not to drive.

8:17 p.m., North Prom:
Officer responded to report
of missing intoxicated subject.
After searching subject was
located by OSP out on the
highway and our officers
went and picked him up and
returned him to his family.
7:13 p.m., 700 block of Ave-
nue B: Caller reported person
bothering her at her home.
