KLAMATH REPUBLICAN E. J. MURRAY. Editor Ol’TNl MBKR DEMOCRATS MOKE THAN TWO TO ONE LEADING NEWSPAPER OF INTERIOR OKtGON TWO DOLLARS PER YEAR IN ADVANCE All communications submitted for publication in the columns of this paper will be Inserted only over the name of the writer. No non de plume articles will be published. A SQUARE DEAL IF YOU CANNOT SUPPORT HIM IMI NOT LIE ABOUT HIM CONGRATULATED It is only fair to give every man his just due. and that is ail that W. S Worden asks from his fellow citisens. Ever since he became a resident of Klamath Falls he has been found in the front ranks working for the wel fare of the city, and on every hand are to be found evidences of the suc cess that has met his efforts. What he has done for this city is grea< enough to at least merit the thanki of the people. Ht' is now a candidate for the republican nomination for county judge. In this he should have and is entitled to the support of ev ery voter in Klamath Falls. It was through Mr. Worden's efforts that the California Northeastern rail road was started. For twenty-five years or more efforts had been made to bring a railroad to this city, but it remained for the indefatigable ener gy of this young man to break through the cordon of prejudice that capital had, and secure sufficient funds to start the work. As this progressed he realised that if the Southern Pacific could be interested in the project and extend the road north so as to make it the main line it would prove of inestimable benefit to this county. He went tQ work on this, and the result of his efforts can be seen today. When the question of the erection of a depot was under dis cussion he quietly went to work and succeeded in getting the magnificent structure that greets the visitor to this city. It was through his urging that the work of securing the rights of way for the Modoc Northern was started. It 1 was through his effort that a wide de tour was taken and Merrill was placed on the railroad map. It was he who plead the cause of Klamath Falls be fore the powers that be, and caused a new survey to be run making Klam ath Falls the terminus of the Modoc Northern instead of Midland. It is for this that he is being ac cused of being a corporation tool; it is for this that the charges of corpora tion control are being made against him. Give him a square deal. Even though you are opposed to his elec tion, state the reason honestly and fairly. There is hardly a man who would be opposed to Mr. Worden if the courthouse question were elimi nated from the campaign. Thei*e is not a man who will not tell you that Mr. Worden is thoroughly honest. Every man will tell you that he is thoroughly fitted for the place. The only argument so far advanced is the one of “railroad influence." Let it be a fair campaign and not one of lies. Mr. Worden has done too much for Klamath Fails to be the victim of so much ingratitude. Aside from the work he has done in railroad lines Mr. Worden has been the means of bringing to thia city thousands of dollars' worth of other capital. At no time In his career can he be accused of pulling back. He is in a better position today to help Klamath Falls and Klamath county ♦han ever before. He is the logical man for the nomination. He is the best fitted man before the voters. Purely business reasons should com pel his support, and the Herald be lieves that when sober thought is given to the matter there will be very little, if any, opposition, either to his nomination or election. <-HINERK PRINCE ARRIVES ON VISIT TO THIS COUNTRY Greeted With the Royal Salute Front the Guns of the Fort—Is Re ceived by Officials SAN FRANCISCO.
