The trunkfish Is one of the peculiar Inhabitants of the ocean. It Is called the trunkfish because Its back Is com pletely covered with bony plates of a regular shape, forming a complete coat of mail. It Is protected so completely that it can move only Its tall, mouth and a small part of Its gills, which pass through the armor. It Is quite a small fish and Is found only In the warm water» of the southern tropical seas.
