But whether the eviiience—and a ¡great cat tie company can easily ob- i tain whatever evidence it desires ' showed that these lands were swamp 'subsequent to I860 or not, all ti>e equities of the ease were In favor of these settlers. That they acted in good faith there was no doubt. Tliey should have been given the benefit of every doubt. 1. t was — a case where a little bending of tile law, ora little over-scrutiny of the contestant's evl- deuce, if necessary, in tiieir favor, would not only have been justifiable, but au act of justice. But the cattle company, desiring and claiming everything in sight a huge portion of Southeastern Ore gon—won its ease nt Washington, and tile settiers must give up their homes, witli their improvements, and "trek " to some other locality and start again. Their possessions will be a very valu able addition to the already vast possessions of the Warner Valley Stis'k Company, which bates a set tler and a hotiie-builder. Telegram. -T KLAMATH REPUBLICAN. The valley Is ir rigated oy numerous canals, the water being taken from Anns and Sun creeks und also Seven Mile. The whole country is covered with the finest grass and is a picture worthy of an artist's brush. After leaving I Klamath Agency you cross i numerous .streams of the purest water, which ■ abound with trout and I are a paradise . for the angler. In the pasture set aside for t be stockmen may be seen 500 head of , beef cattle belonging to different stock raisers of the valley, which will ! be ready for the market this fall. ! There are also 1,000 head on the ad- | joining range anil these will be brought in later to be sold to the different , buyers. Everywhere cround Fort Klamath are signs of prospeiity, business is , good, the hotel is kept crowded and i the people are all busy. Mr. Hoyt, the hotel man, states that they are I having more travel this summer than ; during any previous year. He may be compelled to enlarge his building ! in order to accommodate Hie increas ' ing travel. The citizens are planning on a big ' celebration for the 4th of July, and as Klamath Falls will not celebrate this year, they would like a big attendance from the county seat. As the Fort people have always generously sup ported our races in the past by tiieir ' presence and expect to send down a big representation this fall, it is no more than right that the people of Klamath Falls should return the com j I pliment on the 4th. They have a good ball team at the Fort and one at the Agency and both ■ are hard at work practicing They want to get the Falls team to play with them on the 4tb and we believe that if our team accepts there will be a large crowd from here who will go I along. They had a hotly contested game on Saturday between the Agency and the Fort, which resulted in a score of Fol- 4 to 5 in favor of the Indians, lowing is the line-np of the two teams: Agency. Fort. In the first opening of Oklahoma to settlement in 1889. the editor of this paper was among the many seekers after fortune who made the big race one tine day in April. During his traveling about and afterwards his camping upon his claim, lie encoun tered much bad water, which, togeth er with tlie severe heat, gave him a very severe diarrhoea which it seemed almost impossible to cheek, and along in June the case became so bad he ex pected to die. One day one of ills neighbors brought l itn one small bot- tie of Chamberlain's Colic, Choleia and Diarrhoea Remedy as a last hope. A big dose was given him while he was rolling about on the ground in great agony, and in a few minutes the dose was repeated. The good efiect of the medicine was soon no- tlced and within an hour the patient was taking his Erst sound sleep for a fortnight. That one little bottle worked a complete cure, and he can not help but feel grateful. The sea-. snn for bowel disorders being at hand suggests this item.
