Wood, of the O. M. R. Co., and
Messrs. Thompson and Lyman, of the
Midland Construction Co. of Chicago,
signed up the necessary papers for the
construction of the new road from
the S. P. line to Klamath Falls. The
Midland Construction company then
let a contract to Hale & Smith, of
Portland, for the construction of the
first 66 miles of the road from a point
on the 8. P. between Hornbrook and
Klamathon, Cal., to Spencer creek.
