ment that more pianos have been ship
ped West and Southwest in the past
three months than in five years before.
This looks as though the people of the
West were able to indulge in luxuries,
ind it telle a somewhat different story

of Cleveland and the Wilson law, Then

raise money to meet the interest on

The adoption of the gold standard and
expansion planks in the republican con
vention in Lyon county, Kus., shows
bow that state stands on those two issues.
There was some opposition to a square
out and out deliverance in favor of gold,
but only two votes could be mustered
by its opponents. There was no hostili
ty to expansion. Entire harmony will
be shown by the republicans of the West
