After a week ot upsetting base
ball the Portland Bearere were
beaded south-bound for San Fran
cisco, and San Diego waa headed
for Sacramento Monday with the
first games of the Shaugbneesy
play-offs to decide the 1937 Pa
cific Coast league baaeball cnam
plonshlp listed for Tuesday.
Only two teams Monday held the
same positions they were in a week
ago. Sacramento atarted the week
In the top spot and finished there
$2500 richer. The Missions re
mained In the cellar, although they
administered a sound trouncing to
the 8an Diego Padres, taking fire
out of aeren, and forcing them lnte
third place.
Sacramento had a disastrous
week at Seattle, losing five out of
aeren. They wound np on tne
short end of both games of a twin
bill Sunday. 4 to 1 and 11 to I
The Missions took a pair from the
