In tbla regard. - -
Tha new aetup of grade was
unexpected and the price bnge,
some of them being lowered, were
not In line with the Idea ot the
trade. Tbls lower prlr In spots
practically eliminated th former
advance while in general tht
trade eoneldera the market firm
and active for fresh goods.
flutter Trade Dull
Stoma atock waa still selling
at all sort of price with bold
era keenly aeeklng buyers at
whatever price can be. obtained
The buge cooler stocks war mov
ing out too slowly.
Trading In tne batter marxet
was rather dull with practically
an entire absence of speculative
interest. Prlcea were unchanged
for cube daring the 1st session

That poor turkeys were hard
to move Is the statement of Wal
lace J. Derthlck ot Portland Pro
duce Co.. a leading distributor.
Some of the birds recently re
ceived were placed In the No,

at home and fattened sufficient
to secure th better price.
Meat Steady.
General steadiness waa sug
aested In the market for live
chit-kens with th exception oi
poor light hens. The latter ware
practically Impossible to move at
the moment except at ruinous
figures.
Trading In tha country killed
meat market waa steady even
for beef although no price Im
provement waa suggested for the
latter. Veal and hog were mov
ing out well at recent advance.
Very alow trade waa shown
for cranberries with the eastern
stock selling best because of the
slightly lower price as well as
the excellent color of offerings.
Local grower were still inclined
to hold back marketing for
big advance.
With quality above the aver

taloupe continued good. Dil-
lards were still offering and some
very fair stocka waa also com

Notes ot wholeaale trading
Potato market - waa weaker
with lower track prlcea.
Onions were steady and with

Crabs continued icarce and
treeh salmon stocks were less
