BEATEN, ROBBED
Charl-8 O. Langley, 47, of
Keno Road was severely beaten
and robbed of $40 Tuesday night,
according to reports filed at po
lice bureau by Langley himself,
who dragged himself to the sta
tion when he regained conscious
nesa.
Langley wbo la an employ of
the Kestcrson Lumber company,
told offlcera that he went Into
a local pool ball Tuesday nlgbf
and cashed a check for M0. He
engaged In conversation with two
men whom he had never seen
before, purchased soma drinks,
and planned to go on a party
with these men at their Invita
tion. On o the strangers told
Langley that they would take
him home and then collect sev
eral others for the party. Lang
ley agreed, according to bla re
ports to police station.
Arriving at bis house, Lang
ley and tha two men from the
pool hall went Inside, leaving
the automobile driver outside.
Langley switched on a light
and at the same time waa struck
over the head with a black-jack,
or "sap." He told officers that
he begged his assailants to take
his money but not to kill him.
When he came to hours later,
the money waa gone,,. i
Langley was able to furnish
only meagre descriptions of bis
assailants.
