He defeated Robert Lee Mil
ler ot Jacksonville, Fla., defend
ing champion, four up and two
to olay in the final match thla
afternoon. Fererra won the
championship in 1131 at SU
Paul, Minn.
Miller Stubborn
Miller fought a stubborn, up
hill battle all day. After he had
aonarently blown up entirely
late in the morning round, came
back in the afternoon, and dog
gedly whittled away at Fererra a
lead.
Not until ha wa alx down to
the San Franciscan, did Miller
revive hi game. Then he cut
Fererra' lead to five, four, to
three. He (lipped and Fererra
went again to four aa they made
the turn.
They were shooting the best
golf ot the day toward the end
of the afternoon round. Miller
