"After a period of fire weeks
training at Jefferson Barracks,
Mo., we started onr trip west,
embarking on a special train at
the Missouri Pacific station.
Most of the trip through Mis
souri was along the Missouri and
Mississippi Titers.
We left the station about

we entered the Feather Kiver
canyon and I especially noted
the wel)-cared-for appearance of
the fruit orchards in tie valley. ;

corner ot California and while
at Keddie were allowed to take
some exercise.
Arrive at Camp !
"About o'clock of the same
day we arrived at our destina
tion Klamath Falls. The town t
appeared rery pleasing to me
and I was astonished when told ;
in what a few yean it had
grown up. We waited a short i
time while the trucks were be
ing loaded than started on our
Journey to camp at Lake o' the
Woods.

people ot Oregon most friendly

Last week, F. W. Cleator of ;
the regional forest office was a '
visitor at camp. He has charge i
ot the recreation work of this
district which consists ot plan
ning and supervision of camp '
grounds. Several of the camps '
have been improved, the first
being Beach camp at Lake o' the
Woods, the second the Rogue

Rainbow camp, located on the'
southwest side ot the lake. John
Gribble will be in charge of fu
ture work.
The experienced woodsmen re
cruited from Klamath Falls, who
have been In Camp F 40, Lake
o' the Woods, have been united
with Co. 1642 which la located
only 100 yards east of the for
mer camp.
