Toward the close. Immense sell
ing on orders to stop losses over
whelmed the wheat market snd
toppled prlcea wildly. The de
scent of valdes waa at the Tate of
fully s cent a bushel a minute.
Reports of big falling off In
the purchases of flour at Min
neapolis contributed to the weak
ening of grain values. Reports
also were current that Ohio mills
had stopped buying wheat, wbere-
aa until recently they bad taken
all country offerings.
Tbe extreme fall in wheat was
13 centa. This was In May
wheat, which reached s minimum
ot $1.11, compared with 11.26 to
11.25 st yesterday's finish.
Final quotations on wheat were
9Jc to 12c under yesterday's fin
ish; corn, lie to 4c down; oat.
21c to Me oft; rye, Ute to 12Jc
lower, and provisions showing set

Carelessness waa blamed today
by J, I. Aydelott, general man
ager of lines west, for an ex
plosion In a Burlington railroad
locomotive's boiler at the Union
station here last night, which
killed three men, Injured thirteen
and caused damage estimated at
$116,000.
Aydelott expressed belief the
engineer and fireman on the
Ak-sar-ben limited, crack Denver
Chicago passenger train, failed to
watch the locomotlve'a gangea
and "failed to feed water Into
the boiler, when It waa needed."
