Drastic changes in California
game laws have been brough
about in hills recently signed by
the governor, according to off!
cial announcements in the Serv
ice Bulletin, monthly publication
aent out to members of tbe state
division of fish and game.
Many of these game law
changes will be of particular In
terest to local sportsmen who
hunt In the Tule Lake area. A
bill establishing a 15-bird daily
duck limit, 30 per week, and 1
birds In possession has been an
nounced, as well aa a four-bird
possession limit on geese. This
measure has been sdopted for the
conservation or game birds.
Another bill provides for an
open season and bag limits on
Chinese pheassnts, with the bag
limit set at two cocks per dsy
from November IS to 20, both
days inclusive.
A measure prohibiting the Im
portation of mntkrats Into the
interior valleys of California has
also been adopted, and permits
birds and animals legally killed
In other states to be brought into
California.
The Klamath river Is closed to
commercial fishing for salmon
by these new lawt. and also des
ignated as a navigable stream.
Another section of the new
laws provides that trial Judges
may confiscate hunting and fish
ing equipment, illegally used,
conviction under the complaint,
and provides for forfeiture cf
bunting and fishing licenses upon
tbe third conviction on violation
of tbe fish and game laws.
