The litrniUK uu of gas lu this
city comes as a grand finale of
manv months of preparation on
the part of the Natural Gas Cor
poration of Oregon, begiitult.g
first with the application on the
part of the company for a franch
ise to distribute gas in the com
munity, followed by the issuance
of permission from the Oregon
Public Service commission.
Then came the work of laying
the mains ami distribution sys
tem through the streets to the
homes of prospective consumers
and the solicitation of residents
who might desire to use gas. The
response to this solicitation justi
fied, according to officials of the
caa company, the original de
termination to place a gas plant
in Klamath Falls.
