Merchants Give Beautiful Prizes
Local merchants, cooperating with the Klam-'
ath News on a Christmas gift campaign for the
children of the city, have offered sixteen fine
gifts from the wares in their various stores and
places of business.
The shops of the city this week have taken .
on a decided holiday air, "and decorations are
lovely in every case. Holly, evergreen boughs
and other green and red combinations are being .
used in profusion to carry 'Otit the spirit of the '
Christmas season. The gift goods on display is -one
of the largest and most varied assortments
the city has seen in years.

INSTRUCTIONS
DEAR LITTLE CHILDREN:
I am writing to let you know that every
thing is all ready for the Christmas letter
campaign. There are a few last instructions
I want you to have.
As you know, only boys and girls, under,
the age of 12 years, are going to be allowed
in the letter writing contest, but I hope every
child who is eligible will write a letter early
, to me, so that there won't be such a rush the
last day or two.
All letters must be in by December 22,
and on the morning of December 24, Harry
Poole wants to see all of you at his Pine Tree
theater. At this time I will be on hand to .
distribute the presents to the sixteen children
who have written the best letters. The rest of
you children will be given a bag of candy.
Besides the candy every child will see
a dandy new movie and will hear some fine
music from Jack ; Bowling's orchestra.
