larger conflagration.
Klamath Falls had a
lumber fire recently that
was expensive, but it only
served as a warning to what
could happen here. The
News immediately advocat
ed the expenditure of funds
for better fire, fighting ap
paratus and urged that Fire
Chief Ambrose be commis
sioned to organize and train
the best fire fighting de
partment, with both paid
