LEGION'S ACTIVITIES
Nominations for officers
of the local post of the Am
erican Legion are about
due. It is an
time in the history of that ',
notably patriotic order. '
Without good officers the i
legion will not advance.
With active, energetic of
ficers there is nothing the
legion cannot achieve. The
News urges upon every
legion man the necessity of
turning out and helping
make the nominations. No
lodge member is so despic
able as the member who
criticizes and whines about
everything and yet will not
take part in shaping the
destinies of his order.
A useless legion member
should withdraw from the
order and not clutter up the
roster. It is an institution
that only red blooded men
can belong to, and it should
be such a privilege and such
an honor to be a member of
mands of farm organizations.
"Nor" he added, "is It their opin
ion that it will bring about
equality between industry and
agriculture."
Senator Rrnokliart. Iowa Re
publican, said "The President
promised the farmer equality in
the republican platform but in
office is repudiating that pledge
by advancing untenable dogmas
