able damage, estimated to the ex
tent of $5009 was reported by W. C.
Dalton, prominent Malin . rancher,
when discussing the fire which Tues
day night gutted the Malin grammar
school. According to Dalton the
flames did not burst through the
roof, but the underpinning of the
rooms were cut loose In order to
check the fire. The building was
vslued at 120.000. It is thought
that insurance will cover the loss.
