An Investigation begun by Dr.
Bell IT years ago and during the

cer research committee with a staff
of nearly 30 experts in many
branches of science. Is behind this

problem within grasp," according to
Dr. Bell, "if indeed It haa not al
ready been accomplished."
"There probably lo no specific
cause of cancer but hundreds or
causes" Bell declared. "It la tha
cancer Itaelf that la a opeciflc
growth process."
Bell 1s one of the leading sur
scons of Great Britain. He la an
authority on several branches ot
surgery and has been honored many
times with scholarships. prlics
and medals. Consequently the re
sults of his cancor research are not
llkoly to be Impeached. He has
aerved aa honorary director of the
Liverpool cancer research commit
tee. Indications of the progress of
the investigation have appeared
from time to time since 1923 but
BelPe announcement Is based on
the practically complete report of
the committee. Bell's address will
be published in the Lancet, the
British medical Journal, later this
week
