mately 25,000 cars of lumber are
shipped from this district, not in
cluding better than 1,000 carloads
of livestock per year, and several
thousand carloads of agricultural
products, including hay, grain, po
tatoes and other products.
Proposed Rail Construction
"There Is on file with the inter
state commerce commission the fol
lowing applications for building in
Klamath county, In the order ot fil
ing with the commission, they are
as follows: (1) Application of the
Central Pacific to acquire an Inter
est In the Strahorn railroad (the O.
C. & E.) to extend this road to the
point of Williamson river, and also
to Silver lake, and eastward lo
Lakevlew. The Southern Pacific has
acquired all of the common stock of
the Nevada-California and Oregon
railroad from Lakevlew to Wendell,
California, and has agreed to broad
gange that line. (2) Application
of the northern lines to build a line
of railroad from Bend, Oregon,
southward, near the station Pau
nina, via the Sycan river, Bonanza,
and to Klamath Falls. (3) Appli
cation by the Central Pacific to build
