News) The biggest seizure of real
beer ever made in the stato ot Illi
nois resulted Wednesday in the cap
ture ot five carloads of beer, three
trucks, the arrest of seven mon and
the charge by dry agents here of
"apparent collusion" of the Now
York Central railroad "with viola
tors In assisting them to Illegally
divert beer which bag bcon routed
over their linos."
Excitemont marked the raid ns a
dry squad beat off 35 to 40 men
and boys who altomptcd to hinder
the work of 1he raiders as thoy
descended on tho beer cars at sub
urban Morton Grove. Dry agents
declare that these men probably
were lookouts of the bootleg crew.
