motorist.

has decided that, so far a, he Is

tion against assault, from, moral
perverta.
If Judge Kendall ha, hi, way,

in this community.
That was made clear yesterday
when Judge Kendall declared that
Kenneth North, alleged to have con
fessed to a criminal assault on a
three-year-old baby girl, will be de
tained at the county poor farm.

Kendall's announced action will
be taken despite the fac-. that Dis
trict Attorney E. L. Elliott original
ly suggested that the youth, who
is said to be In his seventeenth year,
be released on hi, own recognizance.
North's apprehension was the re
sult of efforts on the part of Joe
Kimsey, deputy sheriff, who worked
for some time on the case. - Accord
ing to Kimsey, the youth made a
complete confession to him.
North was released after he had
promised to report to Sheriff Burt
Hawkins twice dally. Persons in
terested In the case pointed out that
the sheriff would have little oppor
tunity to locate a man paroled to
him. unless that person were in
custody.

Mann act, was aentenced to three
years at McNeil island yesterday
by Judge Wolverton. Finke was ar
rested here August 14 by police of

gasoline from an automobile. He
