exciting hour of liberty before,
they were rounded up and re

upon G. M. Ailler, a . guard,
beating him, probably fatally,
on the head with a stone. Then
they dragged him toward a
small motor boat, which' had
been unloading supplies at the
prison wharf.
The launch owner, threaten
ed with violence, started the
motor and the convicts jumped
aboard, throwing Miller to the
floor boards. A moment later
they were headed out into, the
